Siege of Vienna in 1683

I just found this article - or rather, book review - of a book published in 1964 and now in print and available in the USA. It details the events of the Siege of Vienna on Sept. 11, 1683. This makes for a parallel with our own times in that our day was an anniversary of the earlier. Of course in the 1683 version the Muslims/Turks lost and didn't gain a stronghold in Europe as they had wished. I suggest that you take a look and pass it around.

Figures that the French would be siding w/ the Muhammedans even then. ~ God bless Poland! ~ It is no wonder that Poland has been erased from the map of Europe so many times. ~ The sniveling rats there don't deserve to have such a fine country in their midst. ~ If only the Vatican was as stalwart in its defense of European civilization now as it was then. ~ The disgusting equivocating that has been eminating from the Vatican is a total shame for me.

Oh boy! Finally some comments! Thank you.

Yes it was rather surprising to read that Poland was involved at that time. Our history teachers never tell us anything.
